Culture change

"The culture of a company is the behavior of its leaders.  Leaders get the behavior  they exhibit and tolerate. You change the culture of a company by changing the behavior of its leaders. You measure the change in culture by measuring the change in personal behavior of its leaders and the performance of the business.”

-Larry Bossidy (former CEO of Honeywell)

Problem:

Most leaders, especially at the supervisory level have been promoted due to their technical experience, seniority and work ethic.  Many fall into the daily routine of expediting and trouble shooting rather than focusing on improvement and skill competencies.

Those beliefs are echoed in the dramatic article by John Shook that appeared in the MIT Management Review titled, “How to change a culture, lessons from NUMMI”

SOLUTION:

•Identify behaviors aligned with company goals that will improve performance and employee engagement

•Articulate those behaviors into specific, verifiable actions

•Replace non value added activities with those that add value, to create your desired culture

•Make the process visual and cascade it upwards to ensure consistency and accountability

•Focus on the critical few actions rather than overwhelming people

We are available to help coach, audit and add competencies, going at the pace that is right for your company

Let's work together to help shape your company an improvement culture.
